SMS SPAM and Odd Icon on T610
Hi
I need some help. Recently I have been receiving spam text messages on my Orange (contract) phone. When I had my bill I was charged £1.50 per text and Orange refuse to do anything about it (any advice on what I can do???).
Last night I received a text from 87021 telling me about free logos/tunes etc and that I should reply to the next text that comes through.
I havent had another text but since then my Sony Ericsson T610 is permanently displaying an envelope icon (this is the icon that shows you have a new text message) but it also has a small "w" in a circle (a bit like the @ sign). ??? ???
What is this all about? Im worried im gonna be hit with some kind of large bill for something I dont want. >:(

I *think* that a couple of months back, the rules were changed so that if you (accidentally or otherwise) subscribe to a premium rate text service, the standard code to end it is to reply to the number with "STOP" (I think there used to be all sorts of different codes, minefield).
The symbol you describe sounds very much like the wap/e-mail logo.
I get one like that on my Ericcson, and it is to tell me that a new e-mail is there. Are you set-up for mobile e-mail?0 -

I have worked it out. It is a wap related email - had to go into my wap inbox but I deleted it before reading!
