I just tried to take up the offer on the paper and the HiFi but they wouldnt take my order. They wanted me to use the website, said that the phone line was for business customers, and so were the special offers. Even when I tried to order some genuine products like envelopes.
So no luck for me, I dont think I'll be bothering with Viking direct again. I suggest that other people pretend to be business customers.
Good tip anyway, well done to those who got the HiFi!0 -
Say you're a business. It's a whiteish lie - Just say you're setting up a child minding business or something.
I've just ordered, and have used Viking in the past for what little stationery our business gets through. The paper alone is worth £30, so it's worth buying 10 reams for 90p and considering everything else you have to buy to hit that £30 threshold free. As luck would have it I needed some box-files, clip-boards and a notice board anyway.
When phoning Viking, it's always worth asking whether they've any free Easter Eggs left. I forgot today, and am regretting it now.::Quidco.com - £1100 in 11 months. Kerr-ching! ::0 -
usually i'm too late when i go for a bargain, but i'm told i'll get my HIFI tomorrow.
i have actually used viking in the past, but i object to having catalogues every five minutes, so i cancelled. anyway, great tip, tks ingrid0 -

Okay, I lied; it's not a pencil, it's pencil lead, but it was good for the headline.
Office products store Viking direct are giving away a free CD radio player when you place an order over the phone and quote the code Y29-PRHIFI (providing they havent given you a free CD radio player before)
So I had a look round for the cheapest thing being sold and its a Pentel Pencil Lead-0.7mm HB at 81p (there are thousands of goods, you may find something even cheaper) and get a shiny new stereo for just £3.31.
However if you don't spend over £30 (which you won't) you have to pay £2.50 package and postage.
Info on the cd radio:
Dimensions 12H X 21L X 21W cm.
AM/FM stereo radio and cd player
2 X 1.5 watt RMS power
AC/DC operation
Variable bass boost system and programmable CD player
Super sound, modern design
LED display for CD player and LED indication lights for program function,
repeat function,
play function and FM stereo broadcasting reception.

Just got the new Viking Direct mag and if you place an order you get a free CD Radio portable HI-FI if you qwote Y29-PRHIFI. You must ring for this one as it won't let you order it online. Because you order will be under £30.00 you must pay postage of £2.50.
Good Luck.

Just tried to order something from Viking Direct to get the free CD player and was told that I had to order over £30 to qualify for the free gift. She said that they had received a lot of fraudulent claims and were now insisting that orders have to be min. £30 to qualify for the free CD player or the cheap paper at 9p per ream! VERY disappointed.0

You should of said it's in the free magazine dose state "Limit one per customer". Or try to ask them send you a magazine then send off your order - hopefully will come in next few days. :rolleyes:0 -
Looked at this link approx 10 mins ago. Thought I had missed the boat but tried anyway. Just this minute got off the phone having ordered the 10 reams of paper at 9p per ream and the cd player. A lovely lady on the phone, no questions asked! Guess it just depends on who answers your call? P.S. I was charged postage at £2.50.
Tried to sell me some AA batteries on special offer at 12 for £4.49. Thanked her very politely, and pointed out that Tesco sell 4 value ones for 72p (and they are ok).
Good luck to anybody else who has a go.0
