It had been a year since I ordered my black chair, they accepted my order for 10 packets of paper at 9p each and free CD player plus p&p I'm well pleased.

I ordered on Thursday(chair, paper, selotape and CD Player). It was my first order. Initially the lady said the paper only applied to a second or more order, so I asked if I cold order the chair first and then order the others, as a second order. She went to check, and said she coud put it all through.

One worrying thing though, was goods didn't arrive on Friday or today. Putting that down to unexpected volumes at the moment but will be more worried if they don't arrive on Monday

I got my paper & Free CD Player on Friday but the driver said the chair was to follow. So they must be busy.

Hi I phoned Viking direct and tried to order the paper but this customer service assistand found the offer and strated reading from his computer 'there are people abusing the system from the internet please be aware of this and remember this offer is for existing customers only' so he said sorry can't help.bye.sigh.so no paper for me maybe I'll try again and see if i can get someone else

i work from home and dh is doing a master's degree this year so we will be going through a LOT of paper. we've already ordered the paper and boombox once but we're wanting to order another 10 reams of paper and hopefully another free boombox since i'm giving our first one to our new neighbours who came from the states with practically nothing my dd would love one and since we're so skint it would make a nice respectable christmas present...

anyway, does anyone know if i can order either or both again? has anyone tried? i'm quite happy to just get the paper again at that price to be honest but if i can get another radio so much the better... i guess i could try for the shortbread and put it away for christmas eve

Maybe it depends who you get - the lady I got was all for not letting me have the paper, despite my having bought from them before. And she also said that it would arrive today, which it hasn't.

I rang them today and here's the deal: Its £2.90 plus VAT for all orders under £30, regardless of whether its your first or last order with them. (over £30 is free, whoppee!!!). The Paper is an offer they send on a leaflet in the box with your FIRST order to encourage you to place a SECOND order. The HIFI was a free gift code offered to new customers to encourage them to open an account and place their FIRST order. From what the lady told me, she knew which website it had come from and said that the offer for the paper would come through in the box with my first order, which she could take for me, so I bought a Leather chair for 29.99 plus VAT and got the HIFI free!!!!!! cant wait for the offer for paper to come. Cheers!!!

The 9p paper apparently existed quite a few years ago - don't know if it's been active the whole time since or just comes-and-goes.

Also I am pretty disgusted with Viking using words like internet customers "abusing" this offer (this is the 3rd time I have heardthem using this word). The fact is that if the paper is intended for "2nd order people only" then that's fine - they should just say so on the phone, and treat everyone the same. Simple as that!

When I phoned them they said they had some "temporary" agents who were not taking the orders correctly.... It is not us abusing their offer - it is them not training their staff correctly. No matter how polite their staff may sound, in my personal opinion it is totally unfair for them to use such words.... This site is about Consumer Revenge - I get angry when I hear retailers passing the blame onto consumers. Shame on them.
