Wedding make-up

I have organised a fair bit for our wedding but i am a little nervous about the make up part ... I don't really wear much for work and so i don't really know where to start. I don't want to go too over the top but would like to wear some ... have heard that there are people who come in to do it for you on the day??? any ideas???

I'm doing my own as i don't usually wear it and can't see how £50 will be very MSE. That and i've an early wedding and you have to go to them, and not before 9am. I'm going to have a few practice runs with a friend, i had the girl in boots do a trial so i knew what colours i needed, and got the makeup when they were doing the £5 off vouchers. Still cost a lot more than i expected!

I got my make up done. I had a trial as well.

It was worth every penny, the make up stayed very well during the day and all the close up pics my skin looks great.

I think it was totally worth it. Try and get lots of recommendations from people and have a trial to make sure you get what you want.

I have to admit to doing a sneaky one here. I've invited my friends daughter rather than her husband as she's a qualified make up artist :D
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • I've got the opposite problem!

I don't wear makeup for work, but when going out it's a full on dramatic liquid eyeliner, mega mascara and pillarbox red lippy.

All the photos of brides are vv natural so I'm going to have to tone things down quite a bit (also it's a bit much for during the day) and prob buy some new makeup (shame, eh?)

Think I'll revert to 'normal' come the evening do tho, if my hand is steady enuff and I'm not too tiddly by then
  • Thanks for the tips everyone. Think I will try and get a trial ... not sure where to start looking. My wedding is not until next year but I may hold you to your offer Lissileigh if you are still around the midlands this time next year!

I'm in the midlands, come and do my eyebrows, I despair of them!

I've asked my sister to do my makeup because she does her so nicely but we're going to have a few practise runs first. I also realised I should probably have a spray tan seeing as I've got a strapless dress and don't fancy walking round the whole summer either covered up or with no straps on to prevent lines!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
