First welcome. How much is the car worth?. The OR does not usually take a car if it's below £1,000 and if you can prove you need it for work ect. So don't start to panic yet. Have you taken legal advice?.

Dont try and hide the car. The ORs are allowed to search and look etc and will come down on you like a ton of bricks if they find out you are hiding anything.

You need to put together a good argument for keeping your car. Exactly WHY do you need it? Check out Parkers for accurate pricing - just because you paid £1k doesn't mean thats what its worth.

And also bear in mind that this may not even work! I have so far been allowed to keep my car (£1k valued, don't work, single with 4 kids and need it for school runs/hospital/doctors appointments) but others on here with cars of considerably less value have had them taken. It also depends on the OR on the day or your interview - there are no guarantees.

I would suggest CCCS or Payplan rather than the CAB. CAB are great but the other two are free dedicated debt organisations. See what they suggest. BR may not be the best course of action for you, but if it is, that is what they will advise. They will go through the implications of being BR.
