Hi MrsMcawber, Please can you put me down for £200 for April. Thanks. That's for Me, DH, Ds1 nearly 16 and eats more than an adult, and DS2 eats almost an adult portion, so pretty much 4 adults.
I went to do my monthly tour of the four big supermarkets today, instead of Monday as the boys are off school for 2 weeks now, so I have already spent.................£111.63!

It looks so bad, over half the budget, but I now have tons in and have just to make up the meal plan now. I think, off the top of my head there is enough for 20 meals at least, so I am not too worried. Stocked up on bread flour too, it is cheaper than plain in some supermarkets, and I have been using it instead of plain and adding baking pdr to make SR, so I won't run out of bread flour now - only trouble is I have little room in my freezer for flour (to kill those nasty eggs :shhh: ) so I will have to put them in 2 at a time until we eat some of the food that's in there!
Well off to start making tea, fish curry for me OH and DS1 and fish pie + portions for the freezer for DS2. Does anyone else have the problem when you take something out of freezer (yipee space!) and then end up putting almost as much back in (extra meal portions) so sometimes it seems the freezer is never getting empty. I suppose I shouldn't complain, but I like there to be space for the yellow label whoopsies.

    Have a great weekend everyone!:hello:

Hi Pink Princess, I know that I used to spent £400-500 each month on food and now spend less than half that. Maybe if you post us some of your meal ideas with the ingredients you use the wonderful peeps on OS will give suggestions on how you might save some money. Everyone is so nice here, and the suggestions are great! Good luck.

    just a thought,

Hi MrsM well after last month's slip off the wagon can you put me down for £130 again this month please? TBH I'm not sure how it will work out, both me and DH are away for parts of the month and I also really need to do some serious healthy eating to make up for Easter...but here's hoping. I just don't exactly feel in control these days for some reason...

Anyhow I've already done an online MrT shop for around £50 which covers a lot of basics. And I have a very well stocked store cupboard. So here goes!
    Good luck everyone!

PS thanks for the Charmin tip Sarah! I really resent spending good money on this sort of thing :)
