Don't know if your PC is the same but someone told me where to find the button... if you hold down ctrl and alt and press the number 4 on the row across the top of the keyboard you should hopefully get it..just to save you having to type Euro every time ;) it used to drive me nuts.... good luck for this month :D

Thanks MrsMc will try the euro sign $$$ it won't work..... boooooo woooooo! Will try and use the E sign, unless anyone else knows how my keyboard works!:rotfl:

  • hi guys

i've already set my april budget of £100, have had at least 5 NSD :j as put the left over change from my march budget in my sealed pot.

so was thinking of having a bit of a shop over the weekend, however that plan's gone to pot as i seem not to have been paid

i now think im not being paid til monday, i suppose 3 more NSD wont hurt. but still...

am also thinking of trawling back through some of the recipes as getting a bit fed up of lasagnes, HM chicken and veg soup etc, etc, so need some inspiring meals. think i'll do that over the next three days so have a shopping list prepared for when i can actually go shopping.

    good luck with april guys.

helliecopter you could just copy the € sign from someone else's post then paste it into yours (drag the mouse over to highlight the text, hold down 'ctrl' + 'c' to copy and then press 'ctrl' and 'v' to paste)

Mumzyof2 ctrl alt and 4 works for me

I'm planning my first online shop of the month today. I will get it delivered Tuesday evening as usual - cheapest delivery slot. I'm gonna stock up on tins & stuff for my store cupboard this week, then next week I'll restock the freezer with meat. Hopefully then I can keep the rest of the month's shops quite low. Well thats the plan anyway. Its a 5 week month this month - preGC we would have spent £500 but now I'm optimistic about coming in below target again. :)

    Hi All

I posted over on the March thread the other day. So, just to let you know i am in at £260.00 for the month. This budget includes, cat, rabbit and hamster food and hay etc. but not dog food. I am going to try and change this so that all the pet food gets bought monthly that way I can just concentrate on our food.
I am going to sit down and have a real good go at meal planning tonight. I was getting the hang of it before christmas but since then everything has gone out the window.

Off to fill the S/C with mince lamb, stock and veggies, and plenty of lentils and pearl barley.... I usually get 3/4 meals worth (family of 4) out of my S/C so I must make more use of it.

I will update when I get my first shop on Monday.

    Mel x

i've just posted in the march thread my overspend for the month was £100.
i'm embarrassd by that as looking at the list i seem to set myself the highest amount but still cant stay in budget.:o

3 adults, 2 teens, 1 child, cat mouse and fish. DD always seems to have her BF round at meal time as well so really its 4 adults:confused: we eat mostly veggie but eldest DD and her BF are vegan

how do you all do it?

I've spent £20 today, went in the paper shop and stocked up on toilet roll and kitchen roll, 4 rolls of t paper £1.09 (i bagged the last pack at the old price of 6 rolls for 95p) and he does huge industrial kitchen rolls for £1.19 the roll has 315 sheets on so lasts ages.
had to go in sains local as well and got free range eggs and a couple of boxes of cereal and some other bits we needed.

doing the weekly shop at tesco tomorrow but going aldi after to stock up on their soya milk (and a few other bits) as thats a lot cheaper but great for baking.

  • Please count me in for April at £100 again, starting 29 March.

I'm so pleased I managed March and came in under budget, (thanks for my freezer and creative cooking).

My budget is for myself and my 9 year old son. I'm not including the animals as I have now set a seperate budget for them and they have lots of food left in the shed, certainly enough to last them 2 - 3 weeks.

    Good luck everyone
I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead
