April total is £321.73:eek: We have totally fallen of the GC wagon.
I will mark is as an expirience - never to be repeated.:o:wall:
So, whilst I am having a :coffee: and checking this thread, DH is writing down what we have in the cupboards etc, so that we can make our meal plan for May.
I see you all over on the May thread. Is it actually up and running yet?? Better go and check.
Egon
PS: I have read a report in the Sunday Telegraph, about the middle-class discovering LIDL. Quiet interesting. But, people with cashmere pullover and pearls around there necks are classes middle-class. What am I then, wearing jeans and t-shirt????:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -

I buy asdas own frozen veggie mince as it has added herbs and a nicer texture.2 bags for £3I do also buy the frozen quorn on occasion.I find them so easy to cook with and all my family prefer it to "real mince".HTH

DH made lunch today, he cooked some gammon. Usually, if there's any left over, he tries to throw it away, but today he wrapped it up, labeled it and put it in the freezer! Guess my nagging has finally paid off :rotfl:
The pineapple on Mum's pineapple plant has finally ripened and she's promised me some, so I think I'll use that and the gammon to make dd's fav dinner, bacon and honey pineapple.
Been planning next month's meals. My target for May is £360. I've spent £65 so far and Mr T are delivering on Wednesday. This should leave me with £64 a week for the rest of the month. As I have a full freezer and won't need any toiletries this month, I should be ok.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -
still haven't counted up my receipts, but I know we'll be very close to our budget again! Hope we won't need to spend anymore before wednesday, but OH decided to make some flapjacks for the lunchboxes and used up a vast quantity of marg!!!
Had quite a productive day. Made some bread rolls today. They were fab and everyone loved them. Next door neighbour came round with 5 trout he had caught today. OH and DS2 had one for tea. It was lovely and FREE!! OH made the flapjacks and I made some soup for lunches. My chilli and pepper seeds have germinated so I am v excited. Other stuff in the garden seem to be coming on OK.
I promise to count my receipt and post tomorrow when I can probably declare Aprils spend. I will be attempting £200 again for May. We have definitely changed how we think about food since starting the grocery challenge:T0 -
searching_me wrote: »hello everybody ..... nsd for me.... although wanted to ask you lovely lot a question .... i love elderflower in drinks but find it quiet expensive.... where can i buy elderflower and how (when i find some) do i turn it in to a drink? thanks xxx
I have been known to wander round our car park at work picking elder flowers. Once I've made them into a cordial I freeze them in small bottles and then I don't have to defrost the whole lot in one go.
Later on I was collecting the elderberries for jam! They reckon I'm mad at work!!Jonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz
