I have gone way over for this month. We are nearing the £300 mark!!!!

Mostly, it is, because I do forget to make snacks. Sweet cakes etc aren't much liked in this house. I sometimes struggle with finding savoury once.
I have spoken to DH about it. We are going to try and bake a few snacks every 2 to 3 days. The boys (9mth and 2 1/2 years love snacks), but only in small quantities. Just have to find some more recipies.

We have resigned to the fact, that this month was a failure. We are hoping to get back on track next month. It will be interesting, as we are going to Germany for a week, and I sure will stock up on lots over there!

    Heads up to everyone

    Hi

This thread is humongus I have been looking for MrDT's recipie for bacon casserole but cannot find it

Anyhow just wanted to say that I came in from nights this morning and chucked all ingredients for bacon cassserole in SC (with addition of dash worster sauce).
Turned it on went to bed when I got up this was ready so quick stir and serve

This is loverly had two generous bowls and there is loads left to freeze.
So am sat here a very full and satisfied Tylersbabe :D.

    Thanks MrDT :T

Glad you liked it :D Maybe I'll try it in the sc next time, even less hassle than in a casserole ish! Worcestershire sauce is a nice addition too :)

Anyone having trouble finding the recipe it's here

I just had a fantastic roast chicken dinner at my parents house, and everyone enjoyed the orange cake and strawberry compote I made and took with me. Well, except dad, he didn't want to risk it til later this evening incase he needs the car (I added a fairly hefty glug of rum lol!) Cake was a similar consistency to banana cake according to mum, probably because I added rum and orange juice to the mix... She thought it was meant to be like that and there was nothing wrong with it so I'm happy :D Maybe they were all just being polite, but there's only a tiny slice left over for dad, so maybe not ;)

Right - went to Tesco as I thought about Morrisons but decided it would be a waste of diesel going further. Wasn't very happy when I checked my receipt as the girl on the till forgot to add 10 points for me using my one bags and I also forgot to hand over a couple coupons for extra points having bought tea bags and cooked meat. Went to customer services and a miserable, ignorant manager type bloke said the points couldn't be added after the transaction. So after loading the car up I noticed him walking out of the store....So I went back in, spoke to a nice helpful lady on the cs desk and she added 60 points for me!!!!:j

Spent £100 in Tesco and £13 in the butchers so I now have £3 left if my calculations are correct! We have plenty of food to last til the 30th but just hope we don't need too much milk. If I hadn't bought all that washing liquid yesterday (6 months worth) I would have £20 left so not too worried.

Making my first ever home made lemon cheesecake for tomorrows pudding along with a self saucing chocolate pudding (very easy) as m&d are back from their hols and coming round for roast chicken.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

A little tip about the points and it really gets up the staff noses is ths. Go to the CS desk and if the manager or someone says they can't add points on after the transaction just say " in that case can I have a refund on these items please ( say tea bags and milk). Nothing wrong with them, I've just changed my mind". Get the refund and then say" Oh excuse me, could you tell me where the teabags and milk are located please?" then go and buy them again. It really does p*$$ them off but if they were not so self effacing then we wouldn't need to bo either.

    How did the cheesecake go??
  • I made the vegetable pate again today using kidney beans. This time, I added some onion and a handful of allbran so that it didnt turn out to be too moist. Still tasted lush! Every week Im going to vary it a little.
For anyone who cant find it:

    1 can kidney beans

    2 squirts ketchup

    half -1 teaspoon chilli powder

Put in food processor and blitz until smooth.

Cant remember whos recipe it is but its great!

Just need to get my breadmaker on now-I think I fancy pizzas for tomorrow night.

I'm still working my way through past threads, collecting recipies that sound nice.

There have been lots of references to Twinks hobnobs. Can anyone remember which month that recipie was posted?

    Cheers ears
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j

    Totally of topic!

I am writing up my CV. But as I was a SAHM since 2005, I am not sure what to put in for 2005 until present. Housewife doesn't sound right.
    Maybe Family business director????:D :D:D

Any suggestions very much welcomed/ needed.

    Thanks a bunch, Egon
