Soz Guys....Brain is def on melt-down, but here's something I'll hope you'll enjoy.
"Grandad's Pud":D so called because my dad used to make it when the offspring were around.
- Put the small tin of evaporated milk in the fridge overnight /COLOR][COLOR=seagreen][I]Carnation does give the best taste but others work as well[/I
- Make up a sugar-free jelly & allow to cool but not set.
- Whisk up the evaporated milk till it doubles in size, preferably in the dish you would like to serve from or it's likely to 'split'.
- SLOWLY add the jelly & whisk till mixed.
- Leave to set in the fridge. Decorate as required.
Don't know why I didn't think to post it beforeFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

"Grandad's Pud":D
Thank you soooooooooo much for posting this, my step mum used to do this when I was young and although I vaguely remembered the ingredients I couldn't remember how to do it.
She used to put it onto a crushed digestive biscuit base mixed with butter to make a cheap kind-of-cheesecake. She also used to decorate it with mandarin segments - yum.

Hi all. I tried this in February but overspent by £30ish. Lapsed in March but need to get back on track for April!
Going to try for £160 this time. £100 big shop early next week and some top ups in weeks two and three. My parents are going on hol on 26th so I can raid their freezer and eat up the contents of their fridge as a favour!
Off to write my list now in preparation for payday on Monday.0 -

Can also be made with a sugar free jelly and yoghurt for a relatively healthy treat, Mum was given this version by weight watchers.
We call it jelly flip in my house BTW, my great Auntie in Scotland made this for me when I was very little and I have loved it ever since.0 -
Sorry for going

First big shop of the month and although I thought I wouldnt need much after overshopping last week I still spent £46.49. This included stuff for my first attempts at home made pizza and hot cross buns so wish me luck.
Also this is probably a really basic question but I brought a masssive bag of value carrots. To freeze them ready to cook do I peel, cut and freeze or do they need balanching first?
Oh and I grabbed a load of half price ham and bacon so almost ready to join the "whoopsies" club except its not Asda.:j0 -

My gran used to make this as well. However we obviously didn't know the trick about not splitting it, in fact I always thought the split was part of it. So for us the bottom part was always jelly and the top was the cream/jelly mix (sort of trifle-esque). Still tasted goodso don't get too concerned about splitting
it's still def edible...
Also to warn you all that Twink's hobnobs are most definitely not moneysaving. I blame her entirely for the fact that my trousers are way too tight and I might have to get new ones. Nothing at all to do with me....0
