Orange 3G with existing SIM card?
Options
I have a SIM card provided in 2002 with a Nokia 3330 on OVP Virgin. It has since had GPRS activated.
Is it a similar process to have 3G activated or will I require a new SIM card?
What tariff options are available to me with respect to 3G?
From Orange website:
Is this for internet access or only whilst on the "Orange World" site?

I'm interested in the £5 "unlimited" e&w bundle. Clicking the terms and conditions on that page reveals several sets of t&cs, so where is the "unlimited" one?pay monthly
- £1.50 daily capped rate, so you never pay more than this a day
- £1 daily bundle, for anytime mobile internet access
- £5 monthly bundle, for unlimited evening and weekend browsing
- £8 per month for anytime mobile internet access

you need to upgrade your sim.
on PAYM i think you can only get a 3G sim if you upgrade to a 3G phone (ie a contractual-based upgrade... it wonr work simply by buying a 3Ghandset somewhere, then phoning Orange and asking for a 3G sim). might have to call Customer service on 150, but pretty sure that's the case.
for PAYG customers they can just buy a new 3G PAYG sim for £1 (or free sometimes online me-thinks) and change details to new SIM via 450 helpdesk.
Unlimited bundle for internet cost £5 off peak is 7pm-7am + weekends + bank holidays.
Fair use policy of 1000mb for the month (~1GB)
Can be used as a modem for a PC if you want.
GPRS is capped at 40kbps on Orange Network. If you have an EDGE enable handset then you can get potential speeds of 284kbps. (3G is upto 384kbps)
The £5 product is a bundle and can be added just for 1month if you want (you'll need to call 150 to cancel the product if you no longer want it). It is available to all PAYM customers. (you are automatically charged no more than £1.50 per day if you use during peak hours whilst you have this bundle)
alternatively you can get Browse all day for £1 (25meg Fair use i think)
£1.50 Daily CAP - limits price to £1.50 for days browsing (max 25mg again) - this is a free product and limits your costs if you browse.
£8 unlimited (actually capped at 30mb for month, no more than 25mb in one day >> this may have changed recently - unsure)
Standard data charges are £3/megabyte.
hope this helps.
