We are in the process of buying a house,Asking price is 235000
What should be our first offer to them
The house is in hounslow council
Has anyone else had experience in the last months or so of buying a houses and how much they can be lower down the price?
Is it the right time to buy a house as i am not a good market observer
I am a first time buyer
Thanks
(Plz correct me it is 235000 not 35k)

It's probably a shed... or a shared ownership scheme (I'm guessing the latter) - bottom line is don't offer more than you can afford. Can't be specific as we'd need more info on the property / area etc0
-
it depends on more variables than are available
how 'motivated' is the seller
how long has it been on the market for
what have similar properties been selling for
etcIt's a health benefit ...0 -
Obviously don't offer more than you can afford, but I presume that you can afford it, want it, and are just thinking about the haggling.
From my experience (none in the last couple of years) I'd say offer 220/225 and go from there...0 -
Me and the OH are are in the same position, we are thinking of goin in at 210.... Just waiting to see if we can get mortgage in principle first... House been on market for
roughly 2-3 months.

I would offer first £210k then they will reject it, then next move you say house market is not going anywhere, you are worried about negative equity and would not pay more than £220k (or whatever is your ceiling)[/COLOR]With a Lemon, Make a Lemonade0

Start way lower. About £180k and work up from there. If you're not embarrassed by your offer, it's too high.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

The last house on the street sold for £212k - this one is slightly bigger. Defo bigger garden. My missus will pay anything up to full asking to get it. I think she is crazzzzzzzzzzy, but what a woman wants.......0
