24 hour emergency boiler cover

Hi, I'm new to this, but I just wanted to warn everyone about 24 hour emergency cover for gas boilers.

I pay Direct Line for 24 hour cover under their Home Response 24 cover. When my boiler broke down last week, I telephoned them at 7.30am, only to find out that they do not do same day call outs for gas boilers. It does not say this anywhere in the policy documents. I am on my eight day without heating or hot water. The engineer has just arrived, hopefully to fix the boiler.

So, beware if you are thinking of taking out emergency cover. Check what is covered for same day call out.

Needless to say, I shall be cancelling my cover when my boiler is fixed and will be shopping around for somewhere that offers same day call out.
