Hi everyone
Im considering opening my first ever ISA with Barclays (the Barclays Tax Haven) and just want to get things straight in my mind before doing so.
My plan is to open up an ISA in this current year 2007/8 and deposit £3000 .. then what I am hoping is that come April 6th I can deposit an extra £3600 into the same account .. Can I do that??
Also, when the 2008/9 year ends and I maybe want to move on to a better deal, what would the procedure be?
Many thanks

Yes you can do that. Or you can open another ISA for 2008/09 instead of adding to the 07/08 one. The barclays ISA have a 1% for a year extra (normally 5.5%) but a few days won't make a difference.
At the end of the 1% bonus next year you can then transfer the ISA to wherever you want, you usually get a form from the new provider and let the banks sort it out
but this then takes 30 days or whatever, which is a pain, but nevermind! 0 -

Someone else has posted to say that their Barclays Branch told them Barclays are not accepting any more applications for 2007/08 Tax Year.

Oh well, my fault for leaving it too late...
Thanks for all your help guys

Officially you have 7 days remaining so don't assume it's too late - Barclays may have decided they don't want customers' money but other places may have better business/common sense -0
