Selling Pendelfin- ideas please

Hello All

My elderly neighbour wants me to sell her 2 pendelfin rabbits and I'm not sure where I can get her the best price. They might(...) be worth a few hundred quid from what i can see via google

Any thoughts?

Thanks

There used to be an AUction of Pendelfin at least twice ayear, but now with it going offshore this years has been cancelled although there is some Pendelfin going into an Auction at Chester. As a one time collector of Pendelfin I have found that it does seem to sell better in Lancashire/Yorkshire. Although there are collectors all over the world. There is a Pen Delfin collectors book which gives you prices and values, if you tell me which ones they areand the relvant colourways I will look them up for you. Any damage does have an effect on the value.
The potteries at Elsecar has an auction room and they sometimes seem to get good prices. ALso look in a collect It magazine they have highest prices paid for collectables and which Auction houses sell them.

This just tells you about the lack of an Auction and you can leave your thoughts etc.

  • I also have been meaning to ask this question...I have a large collection that belonged to my Great Grandma - they are years old. Unfortunatly, some of them are damaged, but I know these can be repaired professionally.

here goes again last post disappeared into the ether!!

The mother appears to be the second version made from 68-78. and her value is aprox (accordingto the pendelfin collectors handbook.) £200 -£400. Although not having the lable knocks the value down to the lower end. I have seen these sell at auction for about £150.
The father I am not sure about as there is no early version in green only a funny blue colour with dots. This stopped being made in 1960, so maybe yours is the one with the kipper tie? (called Kipper tie father!!) He was made from 1960 -1970 and is valued at £600 - £800 again the lower end due to lack of label. I have seen him sell for £300 and have seen him at fairs for about £500.
Maybe with the fact that there is no anual Pendelfin auction this year you may get more for them as collectors will be having trouble finding them. However you chose to sell them always protect with a reserve so they do not go for peanuts (or carrots in their case).
One little note never wrap Pendelfins in newspaper as they react to the newsprint and you cannot then get it off them.
Hope this helps and good luck any more info please ask. :j
