Initial Charge On Batteries
Options
Do you give your mobile phone an initialising charge?
I've always given mine a 16 hour charge and even do today. Rang up to register one today and said I'd be giving it the initial charge of 16 hours and the operator seemed quite surprised and said it just needed a full charge of however long it takes (hour and half according to the book) as that's what he did.
What do you do?

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Modern recharging systems will cut out, once they think the battery is fully charged. Once the phone says it’s charged, nothing more will happen to the battery. Overcharging a batter is bad for it, and a modern recharger won’t let you do it.
Modern rechargeable batteries, lithium ion ones, don’t even suffer much from so-called ‘memory effects’. Memory effects are where, if you repeatedly recharge the battery before it’s almost completely flat, the battery will loose its ability to hold charge. What was half-charged will be ‘remembered’ as completely flat. With lithium ion batteries, I’ve been told that it’s best to go through a few cycles of fully charged, fully discharged, fully charged... but, after that, how you go about recharging doesn’t make much difference to its life expectancy.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
I've been told to charge for 17 hours the first time and wait until the battery is very low thereafter, when it should be charged between 4 and 8 hours. I follow that with all my phones.0

No, never hadWhen i worked for cpw we tested this with 2 identical phones (one charged normally & the other for 16 hours) & it seemed to make no difference to the battery length after. So now i don't bother - i'm always too kean to play with my new gadget anywayWondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0

Yes, always have (Please specify how long)I charge mine until the battery says it's full - I don't really see a point otherwise because I don't think it's really adding anything extra to the phone.Sealed Pot Challenge! Aim; £100 Currently £11.61£2 Saving Club; Aim; £200 Currently £0
