ok, so your beef is with royal mail, not the post office?

sorry, it just grips me when i see so many threads slating the post office only to read the problem is with royal mail.

No, the Post Office in my case. They couldn't grasp the fact that a redirection had been set up and the P O for my old address still kept delivering to that address - hence the postie had to be "retrained" five times.
Isn't the PO controlled by RM and a football manager? So the gripe, if that's what you meant, is with both?

I had problems with my redirection with mail going to my old address, fortunately my old neighbour sent it on. Every time I complained I was told it was resolved and given a book of first class stamps. Eventually I wrote to the manager and said I didn't want stamps just the problem sorted. Got my full redirection costs refunded for the year and never had any more problems, so persevere.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

i dont know what the issue is PO/RM were all one company working in one network.
parcelforce less so as its nearly a seperate company.

as for retraining the postie, probably a duty with a different postie everyday.
redirections are one of those jobs you get through asap
now for me,i know all my redirections(45 at last count) so can just put them aside as i sort the mail into the frame.
even if i missed one i would see it on delivery.
same goes for misaddressed mail,i know the people rather than the address.

in our office when we are short of staff through sickness, low staff levels, holidays we see an increase in redirection failures.
when staffing levels are good then we hardly see and failures

its no excuse but its a reason with less and less full time posties on set duties i see an increase in simple issues like this.
