New feedback rules

Ok I know I should know this but the truth is I don't always have the time to read all ebay announcments. So with the new feedback rules, when do they start? and what exactly will it mean? easy out there OK ? :rolleyes:

It means all sellers will be at the mercy of their buyers.

If your buyers are all normal people then you have nothing to worry about, however since most buyers seem to have anger managment and mental health issues expect to get negged routinly.

"item not the right shade of blue"

"took 2 days to arrive"

"paid 99p for postage, stamps on jiffy bag only 65p"

"explained that 4 day old baby bid by accident, nasty seller"

"i sell the same stuff as seller and set up buying account to ruin their feedback"

etc.

I am with you on this brooker dave this is not good at all, they can say what they like but sellers ( who pay the fees) cannot retaliate in any way, it stinks

Ebay could have set up a feedback system which removes the ability for a Seller to leave a negative for a Buyer but where the Seller could still express how exasperating/intolerant/bloody-minded the Buyer has been.

Even if that was a smiley face for a great Buyer. A frowning face for a not-so-great Buyer and a Mr Angry Face for a Buyer whom has been a so-and-so - the Buyer acquiring those faces the same way as positive feedback, etc.

Ebay should just stop meddling with their business, they seem hell bent on scaring off *all* sellers, and after all it's sellers who generate them their income.

What about people like me? Bought a bag that, when it arrived, wasn't like the one in the picture (professional seller) but I didn't think it was worth making a fuss about so paid for it immediately and kept it. However, I left honest neutral feedback.

Twelve weeks later, the seller is asking me to withdraw the comment or they will give me negative feedback. Is that a fair and commercial way to operate on Ebay?

As it was the feedback system did have flaws.

But that said the new system is even more flawed.

The advantage of the new feedback system is that the very bad sellers will get their just deserves, there is a seller who sells mobile phones as VGC but when I ordered one it arrived all battered and bruised.

Buyers rarely give him a negative because he always gives a rude one in return. I expect he will be getting quite a few negatives.
