Presumably the system restore to before the OP installed AVG has reset the WEP key.
The easiest way of 'finding out' what it is, is to log onto the router and change it and then change it to that on the PC.
But you would be better using WPA as albertross said.
BTW AVG works fine with Vista, the other free ones I have perosnal experienc eof on Vista are Avast and AntiVir (which I currently use).It's my problem, it's my problem
