Martin on his C5 TV show spoke about very low mobile users as Grandad users.
Although not a Grandad I am a very low user and currently on a contract paying about £16pr Mth.
I only make (tops) 3 calls per month and maybe 3 texts.
What is the best PAYG deal outthere for very low users like me who does not want to be stuck with having to top up to a certain amount every month whether I need to or not.
Hopefully Martin will remember us and inform on the best deal for extremely low users like myself on a regular basis.

If your usage is that low you probably shouldn't be on a monthly contract at all as you are paying for much more than you are using. You need a basic payg deal where you just top up when you need to. Allowing a standard cross-network call rate of 25-35 per minute and a standard x-network text rate of 10-15p per text a £10 top up would probably last you at least six months (depending how long your calls are)! I used to do virgin payg and found I was topping up less than £10 per month so it didn't make sense to get a contract. When my usage increased I went to O2 with 200 mins 200 texts for £15 (sim only no phone). I think you need to migrate the other way!
I found virgin very helpful, competitive and easy to use and could recommend them, though other MSEr's might have specific better offers for you from other providers.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -
T-mobile PAYG 'everyone' rate is 15p per minute cross network and they have free sims available at the moment. Tesco also have some good deals where you can nominate 3 numbers and it will be 10p per minute and the other calls are 20p. (Check if this is still current)0
