I have one neighbour to the left who leaves his small front garden to grow into 5ft high grass (he hates gardening, so I have to fight off the seedlings from his grass) and to my right this owner is not in all week, leaves his curtains closed all the time, has a small lawn with ill looking small conifers and he told me he hates gardening. Yet I keep mine tidy and look after it, why is it then that these people buy houses with gardens if they hate it so much???

Ahh the varieties of mankind
I expect if you talked to my next door neighbour he would be none too happy with my garden either, in fact he's told me that himself
Why don't you ask them if they would like to pay you a small amount each week and you would mow the lawn for them? Might work.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I'm lucky enough to have neighbours on either side who do take care of their gardens, in the past i have been the one to neglect the gardening. However now i have started to care for it better and am frustratated by the garden which backs onto mine. The council tenant there looks after the front garden and most of the back but its too big for her to keep on top off, so the 12 feet by 15 feet back section which borders mine is all brambles and nettles which are constantly sending runners under the fence.
Still i need something to declare war on and it may as well be nettles as people!0 -

Are you on speaking terms with her?
If so why not offer to take over that bit as perhaps a veg plot for you, and I'm sure a handful of beans etc would please her as well
Time & energy permitting of courseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
If hes not got a mower how can he cut the grass
He has been there 15 years and I have lived there six years. In all that time, he has never touched the grass. He gets a mate to strim it once a year. There are no flowers nothing. Answer - weedkiller, then pave it over.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -

but come on, not 5 feet, grass doesn't get that tall, unless its elephant grass.

My last neightbours front and back garden were the height of the first floor of the building for the 5 odd years we lived next to them. They never once did anything and probably thought they didnt need to as the house entrance was on the side of the house. I think someone eventually complained about vermin and a contactor spent several days hacking through it all and took it away. As they say it takes all sorts.0

Do you live next to me?
My BF does his grandad's garden, but not ours.
We inherited the house, and BF would religously mow the lawn until we started the diy. Now the garden is the least of our worries.
The most 'gardening' that has been done in the last 6 months - A couple of branches from some trees have been chopped off. Why? - They were interfering with the sky signal!!!!
My dad is retiring in the next couple of months, I'm hoping his gardening obsession will transfer to my garden aswell.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.
