Upgrade for Free

He he he. I have just wangled a free upgrade for my broadband which is 4 times faster than my old one. This upgrade is currently being advertised for a one off fee of £20. Then for my cheek I asked if she could reduce my monthly payments? She couldn't do that but agreed to give me one month's connection for free. £38 saving in total plus a much better connection.

And to think all I did was threaten to cancel! Works wonders. :p

Yes it was! I just called and said that I was thinking of cancelling as I had seen a better offer elsewhere. I asked if they could give me a free upgrade and he said that he couldn't. He then told me however that he would put me through to cancellations who could waiver the charge. I explained the same thing to the second operator who then like clockwork offered me a free upgrade. I then asked if she could reduce my monthly payments and although she couldn't (or wouldn't) she did offer me a free month's service! Brilliant. Good luck! Just call customer services...
