Do boots offer money back on items you are not happy with if you dont have the receipt? I bought some no 17 foundation and i tried it yesterday and its awful, its so oily and just makes me look like an orange!!! Its the worst foundation i have ever had, what should i do as i cant use it and it cost me £5, so i dont want to just throw it away. any help would be grateful.

Ps whats the cheapest thing you can get with the new £2 till spit?

    Vicky x
I'd like to know if there's anything that can be done about this also. I paid £5.99 for the mineral foundation and that's very orange too!

While collecting a prescription from the local Alliance pharmacy, which has been "bought over by Boots", the SA told me that people who work for the NHS are entitled to 10% off all purchases, excluding precriptions! I got it today because they know me but apparently if you take your ID badge you get this. Don't know if this is an area thing but I imagine it would be across the country. First I've heard of it in the 18 years i've been an NHS employee but who knows! Anyone heard of this? Next time i'm in Boots i'll try it and let you know.

No idea sorry, I get millions of emails but nothing via the post - have had my card years but only really used it since Xmas. DH had a few vouchers when I signed him up for an advanatge card recently but nothing since.

Spooky, got some vouchers through the post today - first time ever. Maybe its a sign :rotfl:

200 pts when you spend £25
    Double points coupon
100 points on Soap and Glory range
100 points when you buy any mascara (mentions no brand)
    1/2 price eye test
FREE No7 Line Lift when you spend £15 on No7
Save 10% on Boots Essential Toiletries range
    1/2 price sunglasses

Mmm wonder if the free line lift can be used as part of the 3 for 2 so that you get 3 for 1? Would I be brave enough to try it though :rotfl:

I have one of the till spits for the R&M and I know I definately wont use the 10% on Boots essentials so if anybody can use them let me know and i'll pop them in the post.

snap! see you there:D I'm going around 2pm
Hi to my fellow Luton Bootsers!!
Beat you both to our local this morning at 10.00am along with my very bored 10 year old DD and left with some goods and some bads!!
I looked for the No7 Nailcare sets for £2.50 but as usual no luck!!
I let my DD print of some vouchers from the ACM and she kept pressing the 'print' button and printed off loads which included 2 of the 1/2 price Umberto Giannini deals and a £1.00 off Tony & Guy so armed with all my coupons and 3 left of my £2.00 haircare vouchers I picked up a Umberto Giannini shampoo and conditioner and two Tony and Guy Model me items (on 2 for £7.00) and my free (from todays Sun coupon) bottle of multivitamins and headed upstairs to the clearance section. As usual nothing there worth buying and tried to pay at the Photo counter but no SA's visible so went to the Pharmacy counter downstairs. SA that served me was lovely and I managed to get my 2 UG shamoo and conditioner for £1.50 but the till bleeped at the £1.00 off Toni & Guy voucher so couldn't use it (maybe it will only work on the normal range!!) Paid £5.00 for them with my haircare voucher.
Spurned on by the succesful Umberto Giannini transaction I then went and picked another two up to use my last haircare voucher and after reading the posts on here about the free mediterranean almond & pistachio soap coupon taking of the price of £4.00 if you buy the Mediterranean Almond, Wheatgerm & Milk Body wash I picked up these two aswell. Went to the tills at the front and handed all the vouchers over and both the Giannini and the Mediterranean coupon bleeped. The SA told me I couldn't use them because the shampoo was already on a promotion but I said that I had already used it and it had worked and besides the mediterranean stuff wasn't on offer. She was quite adamant but i said that as it had already worked maybe it was her till. She finally agreed to take me to another till to try it where the SA there looked over the coupons and said that she didn't think they would work either. After scanning the shampoo and conditioner I was pleased to find it worked on her till but the mediterranean one wouldn't despite me picking up the right products. She suggested I tried the Pharmacy till where they have a key to overide it but I knew if they did this I would only get the soap free and DD was getting ratty with me so decided to leave it.
Leaving a little disappointed by my 2 failed transactions and unused coupons and in need of one of my 'free' multivitamins I am just hoping that you two might have better luck in this store!!!
Please let me know if you try it and it works!!!
:o Sorry for the long post (must be my multivitamins!!) and after getting home to find my Boots mailings had arrived I'm a little happier cause I have a 500 points when I buy any product from the No7 range (not including reduced to clear lines) and I wondered what would be my cheapest item I could buy to use this:question:
    TIA

Please let me know. My sister is a Community Nurse and has been working for the NHS for over 15 years and is always shopping in Boots so this would be great for her.:j

been thinking ..............why do we all do this?
Do we all really need to save pennies on our smellies? Or is it the thrill of stuff for nothing when we spot a glitch?Or is it the points which we see as 'free'money?

I wonder if the powers that be at Boots are pulling our strings!!!

I've used Boots online for the last couple of years as I do prefer to shop on the net and only get to town once or twice every couple of months. Found they had more buy one get one free offers on than Tescos so was better value.

I then discovered this thread and the xmas sale, did buy a lot but have the bulk of my birthday and xmas presents sorted now for the adults and childrens friends. Loved getting up early and grabbing bargains and had fun seeing what everybody else got so got a little hooked. Bought extra for the school summer and xmas fayre as I got caught out last winter when DS had to take things in for dress down day - this year I have lots of lovely things to donate.

If i'm honest ive used it more than usual after the sale but I do tend to stick to things I will actually use and have popped to the store a couple of times as I discovered the mag vouchers thanks to this thread. DH did say to treat myself for Mothers Day so I was only doing as I was told :rotfl:

I dont buy items I wont use just for the points and see the points as a bonus rather than "actual money". Like the lip pencils, never used them so even at 50p I wasnt tempted, but I do use the NO17 lipsticks so I had those and the lip glazes and bold eyeshadows I will give to my niece (she dances and likes bright colours as they show up well on stage). However extra points offers do tempt me to try products I havent tried before in a range.

I do have a love of perfume and bath items so do treat myself whilst stocking up on essentials but would do this whether at Boots or elsewhere. I just like shopping in general lol.

I use this and have really fair skin (also red hair) and this is fine, I bought another one today using free lip glaze voucher in mag, £1 off from mailing and also got the free eye pallette! Woo hoo!
Will not spend more money:naughty:, but will spend more time looking for that great bargain!
  • Also FYI the Cheltenham branch has got the Expert Tins up by the bath section and by the toothpaste.
