[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] "Shopper Discount & Rewards"

I'm shocked and horrified that this can happen. Surely there is nothing stating that an £8 fee will be deducted for a monthly subscription to nothing on the site I used. Who would knowingly sign up to that? I've just called my credit card company about this transaction and they advise that they don't know what it is...but it also came out last month. Admittedly I should have checked closer last month, but there is no excuse for this blatant scam.
Having just called Shopper Discounts, they advise me that it was as a result of me asking for a voucher to claim £10 off my next purchase from Interflora. Perhaps it stated somewhere in the small print that I'd be subscribing to some obscure service - with no benefit - but it certainly wasn't obvious or something I'd knowingly do. It seems I'm far from alone.
Shopper Discounts also claim they will refund the 2 payments I made and cancel my subscription - though at first they were not keen on the refund. Let us see if they are true to their word. :mad:0 -
Is there actually anyone out there who has subscribed to this intentionally and feels they are getting something for their money?
I was lucky with vistaprint and saw the small print just before I clicked, but I didn't realise it was on other sites as well.0 -
just got scammed by this lot. Called their number from this thread and I am told the money would be refunded and my membership canceled. It was the £10 offer from Nat Express that got me. Guy insists it is not a scam because it tells you in the t& c box about the fees.
I feel stupid for not reading them but still say its a scam if notice of the cost has to be hidden in t& c s
thanks for all posting here. I hope it is sorted as promised.0 -
Just an update from my last post.
"Shopper Discounts" told me they would refund my £8.00 that they stole from my bank account on the 8th of may, and said it would take 10 days max.
Now it's the 28th and they still haven't gave me my money back, that's 20 days.
I phoned them up and demanded they refund my £8.00 and they hung up on me.
Phoned again straight away and this time a different person said they would get on it right away and refund my money.
I'll believe that when i see it!0 -
Just out of curiosity, is there anybody that can confirm that they got their £8.00 back from "shopper discounts"?
As i still have not got my money back, after 22 days now since they said they would refund it, i phoned them today again and they made some excuse that they issue the refunds through some entirely different company and that the other company are experiencing some sort of difficulties with processing refunds at this present time, and they can't tell me when this will be rectified.:mad:0 -
Expedia!!!!
That's the last time I shop with those f****ers EXPEDIA, unless of course they represent better value than the competition. I just completed my purchase and was offered a £10 discount on my next purchase.
I filled out the form and entered my credit card number for benefits thinking that I could make some money with them crediting my credit card. Then read a tiny little bit of small print saying that they would give me the pleasure of being billed £8 per month for my benefits.
I wonder how many people are being billed £8 per month for the pleasure without even realising it.0 -
Just received an EMail confirming a refund is on the way. After a few phone calls, many of which were cut off, I got through to a telesales person and then a supervisor. They said I had received 9 Emails confirming that they were going to charge me. I pointed out that proof of sending is not the same as proof of receipt, all they need to do is have confirmation of receipt set up on thier EMails. They did state that it is their policy to give a refund if the offers have not been taken up.
All these type of Emails go to junk box and auto delete.
However I noted that when you send them an Email you get a receipt confirmation, so it should work both ways.
I am not sure about the rules and regulations regarding selling at distance, but maybe the trading standards people should look into this in their area of operation0 -

So, because all we did was click the link we weren't [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] thank the Lord.

I too just found that £8 had been taken via my credit card. I managed to cancel the subscription and also was told that the £8 would be refunded. I was told that the details had been passed on to them by Interflora when I clicked a button to requested a £10 discount off next purchase.
The worrying thing about this is that Interflora had my debit card details but payment was taken from my credit card!!!
Any comments?0 -
