Audi A3 1.6 Special Edition 3 door Hatchback - NOTE NEW SPEC

Just to clarify - I was in the market for an A3 or BMW 3 series, the BMW dealership in question, when confronted with a broker's price confirmed that all warrenty claims and servicing would be done as BMW require but by buying from them they would ensure a little bit of a higher level of service eg ensuring a courtesy car is available, offering a collection/return of your car. Items that are not obligatory of the dealer to do. In my situation being rurally located the next nearest BMW dealer is over 70 miles away - so they knew where the car would be serviced.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

Sales patter! My local BMW dealer couldn't have been nicer to me despite not buying my car from them.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

DealDrivers - I have a quote from one of the on-line brokers which mentions things like a first registration fee of £56 and manufacturers delivery cost of £479.99, and admin charge of £300! An extra £800+ on top!!!
Are these costs normal whether I purchase from an Audi dealership or a broker? Strikes me the costs are being bumped up, but there again I have not purchased a car for some considerable time so I'm not sure if this is normal.0 -
Looby - every Audi dealer has a delivery pack charge as they have to pay Audi a fee to have the car moved through the distribution system to them (it also covers the onward delivery cost by road to yourself from the dealer, plates, pdi labour charge etc), they vary by a few pounds, but it has to be built into all Audi quotes as part of the standard charging on Audi, so it should be part of your overall quote for the car.
First reg fee is a legislative requirement, the DVLA impose it on a car registered for the first time in the UK, and it goes up from £50 to £55 on 1st April (next week) so you can't escape that whatever car you buy.
I don't know what the admin charge is for as Audi dealers don't charge you a fee for their admin' to process your order...you'll need to query that with whichever dealer you've approached. If it's from a broker it just means its their fee to find the price for you. Some brokers take their fees from the dealers, other take the fee from the customer. You just need to work out which overall price is best for you.“Official Company Representative

have you checked out the road tax for the audi A3 1.9 TDI?
Its half the price of the petrol ones you are interested in.

Goldspanners - presumably the vehicle you mentioned is a diesel? Think I would prefer petrol. And ... thanks for the link to the road tax site.0
