The chances of that round here seem less than it being Agent Million. Sorry for your disappointment - I always tidy the house just in case!

Do they really just turn up and knock on the door? It sounds that way in everything I've read about the process but I've always assumed they must call first as people could be on holday etc. Not sure how far 'agent million' has to travel but imagine it could be quite a long journey in some cases which would be a shame if nobody home!

If only I could find out first hand 😀

I know one person who won £1 million - a former colleague's step-father around 12 years ago. In his case "Agent Million" called his employer to confirm he'd be at work on a particular day (it was passed off as something innocent and believable, like the Passport Office asking if he'd be there to sign for his new passport being delivered to the office). He was surprised at work by Agent Million, and not too surprisingly, was given the rest of the day off by his boss. He did return to work and stayed there for 6 months but eventually took an early retirement.

12 years on, with all the recent data protection laws, a company shouldn't confirm if someone works for them if a stranger calls, so not sure what tricks Agent Million uses nowadays!

It's surely more discreet than that. They wear normal clothing and don't arrive in a flash car with a big cheque.
