Not sure who you're agreeing with, but anyone recycling that old myth about newer bonds being luckier than old ones is missing the point that the vast majority of bonds have been bought relatively recently, I think it's something like 95% bought since 2000, so the fact that they win prizes more often is exactly what should be expected, not because they're lucky but because there are so many more of them....veejay43 said:Had premium bonds since the beginning, around 1960 i think, i have never won a penny, in those days of course you could buy them from £1 each. wouldn't even bother now, but i agree, later bought ones seem to win more often, from what i have been told
Edit: that '>95% since 2000' stat was published by NS&I in September 2018, since when there has been a circa 50% increase in bonds in play, so the pre-2000 population will now be closer to just 3%, and therefore the 3% of high-value prizes won this month by pre-2000 bonds is exactly as expected.7 -
Snap tommyedinburgh! I also had my first £50 win with this draw. Usually my wins are for the £25 prizes on my holdings of £42000+.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
