Financial analysts are now speculating that premium bonds may be in line for another cut...
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-9640095/Could-Premium-Bonds-cut-20bn-poured-year.html'NS&I have a net financing target of £6billion for the 2021-22 financial year. Given they are seeing growth of around £1.5billion-£2billion per month on Premium Bond balances, this doesn't look sustainable. 'I expect NS&I's full year results to also came with an announcement of a reduction to the prize pool as otherwise, NS&I look on track to go significantly above their target.'Last time the odds were cut from 1 in 34,500 to 1 in 24,500, media analysts seemed to have been tipped off and were speculating on it 2 months in advance - so it looks quite likely they will be cut further very soon

That possibility was also raised a couple of months back, March possibly as there was a bigger than expected influx of money into PB accountsjosh33 said:Financial analysts are now speculating that premium bonds may be in line for another cut...

Indeed, there was a thread in response to an MSE piece about high inflows exactly three months ago:annabanana82 said:

It was of course the other way round - the cut was going from 1 in 24,500 to 1 in 34,500!josh33 said:Last time the odds were cut from 1 in 34,500 to 1 in 24,500
Personally I wouldn't assume that a speculative Daily Mail piece, reiterating what was said here three months ago, signifies any inside info or tipping off - it's just how journalism (or rather "journalism") works!josh33 said:Last time the odds were cut from 1 in 34,500 to 1 in 24,500, media analysts seemed to have been tipped off and were speculating on it 2 months in advance - so it looks quite likely they will be cut further very soon0 -
Well the last cut clearly worked! Not...
im guessing another cut would be fairly small, so it probably won’t achieve much0
