I should probably register, but it has been so exciting when the envelope shows up I am resisting lol. The five of us (with just 100 each) have won 3 times and even whn it is just 25 quid it is such a thrill to get the check in the post ;-)

It is exciting when the envelope lands on your mat halfway through the month, but its better & much more practical if they pay it directly into your account by the 7th of the month at the very latest.

By the way, prizes totalling £75 on a full holding of £500 is a great return. Hang on to them, they might be lucky.

My prizes actually total 150- 2x 25 and one 100. So a very good rate considering.

But I am not worried about lost interest for 7 days as these were a fun flutter I bought with part of the money from my children's grandmother. Something to have fun and get excited about.

It is just a wee bit of fun as we hold many other savings and investments. I get kinda concerned when those who don't have a lot of savings pay money into them (as they acutal payment odds are far lower than I have received), but at least unlike the lottery it isn't a tax on the stupid as you do you get your stake back.

I think my biggest problem is that my husband, myself (100 the month after investing no less) and one of my twins have been the winners. And the other 2 boys are the ones that don't tend to win on the scratchcards they get in their xmas stocking. I think they may be getting resentful so am considering cashing them in.

We aren't big lottery player types, but we do buy a couple of scratchcards at xmas as stocking stuffer once they got to their teens. We do have a family rule/pact though that if you win a few hundred you keep it but thousands or over and it is split amonst us. The prob is that me and one of my sons keep winning and the others not so much lol.
  • I've held £2k for ~10 years, won £10k about halfway through that time and a few £50/£25s. Maybe £10300-£10400 total, tops.

My mum can't understand why I've won more than she when she's held her (£1) bond for decades!

I only hold 100, but won 100 the first month I was eligible. So i don't ever expect to win anything else lol.

But your return Swamps my small decent one ;-)
  • Does it not show that you've won a 'higher' prize?
It will show whether you've won a "lower" one, if they're drawn, regardless of it saying higher ones.

Anybody won anything bigger than £100 on this forum? I have won over 25 prizes but no bigger than £50!

Spookily I found the premium bond holders certificate in a pile of other papers yesterday. Checked online and had won £25 this month. Arrived back home in evening and the cheque was waiting. Really strange it happened all on the same day when this paperwork had been lost for about 10 years.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Some years ago I won 3x£500s. in one year, as well as quite a few £50s and £100s during the same year. Been rubbish since interest rates went south though.
