I cashed in most of my bonds a few years back to put in my mortgage offset account. I know it makes sense, but I do still feel slightly nostalgic about waiting to see if you've 'won' anything this month

Im new to this forum and was reading it before i purchased my bonds. I had 20k which i cashed in 2 years ago as i need the money for other matters. I have now reinvested it in as a block amount. My 1st draw is Aug '11. I have read a few posts that newer bonds win more, although I believe they are all equal. I will let you know the results after i have checked them in the 1st few days.

Cashed in some old ones (not the ancient ones though) and added some savings to buy a block of £20,000. First draw was March 2011. Won £25 April, 3 x £25 June, 2 x £25 July.

Thought I would give it a year and see how it pans out compared to regular saving.

Good luck to you all for next week. Sorry this week - forgot it was Sunday!! :j

Don't know about newer bonds having more change than old ones but I've had my £13 holding since they first appeared in '56/'57, and have yet to win anything. Today that would be worth in the region of £235! Do you think now is a good time to cash them in and put them in my money box (ISA) ? ;)
