    Yep, got mine today :)

Can't believe the convo further up in this thread (nothing to do with you ***xyz***!), about how they work, it's been done to death on other threads here, wish people would search and read before posting, however...

Effectively you are "staking" interest you'd normally be earning if you put the money away in an account.

If you don't win, you are losing, due to the effect inflation has on the original lump sum.

e.g. put 10K away for a year in PBs, win nothing, that money is worth, in real terms (i.e. what it can buy you) 10K minus inflation.

An equivalent gamble (but with better odds) would be to invest your lump sum in a high interest account, then take out the interest each month and buy lottery tickets with it. But I hate the lottery lol ;)

However many of us who "invest" in PBs, understand them fully and enjoy the "wins", and let's face it my bank account is never going to give me the chance to win a million or many other larger prizes! But they certainly aren't a major part of my investment portfolio.

    No big win again.
Warning - it's less fun if you know exactly how many bonds you have.
"That might be be" gives a few more days of hope.

Looks like work in the morning!
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Hoping to pick up all of the medium size prizes.
    That'll be about £50,000.

I have noticed that Kent is in there a lot and think I should move. Apart from that someone with a total holding of £2 and another with just £5 just won £5000 each - now that can't be bad can it. So now we all remember why we keep hold of our PBs you just never know.
