My shopping came two hours late from Eastlands on Thursday coz the driver got badly lost - he looked so forlorn I couldn't be angry with him even though I'd had no call to let me know what was happening and there was no answer at the store when I called them. He then told me he was driving to Wales the next day for a holiday with his wife!!

Then... I looked at my receipt and I had been charged £999.99 for a copy of the free Asda magazine - that I had ordered for the first time, I usually forget - AND IT WASN'T IN ANY OF THE BAGS!!!!!!!!!!!! My shopping was a total of £1072 this week.

:eek::eek::eek: OMG what kind of card did you use to pay for that? I take it you have been in touch with customer service to get it sorted. How on earth did they let that go through  surely someone somewhere in the whole home shopping system should have spotted that mistake.

I phoned the store this morning and they had already sorted it but not amended the paperwork that the driver left with me. I wasn't too worried because my credit card balance is at that stage where I've not yet paid off last month's balance as it's not due till next week and am nicely racking up this month's balance so there wouldn't have been enough credit left to make a payment that big. If by some chance it had gone through, I get 3% cashback on the card so that would have been an easy £30 and I would just have had to get the dodgy amount refunded.

I have never heard the like of this tale. Are you going to claim your ASDA giftcard for being over-charged? TD.

An update!!! Asda put a manual charge of £69 through to my card, but as I didn't know this at the time and I'd raised the question at Eastlands, a very nice woman said she'd sort it out for me. My goodness did she, she put a credit through to my card for £997 along with one for £20 and the original £1072 hadn't even been debited!!!

I'm guessing the £20 is compo so I won't claim a giftcard (didn't know you could - how does that work?) and I'll wait till I get my statement before I raise it again with the store - after all, they don't know I can see my transactions online, and if they don't reverse it yet, it means that this month's spending is covered and the money stays in my bank account till the then double bill is due next month. Is that cheeky?
  • Thanks for your help.
Are there any codes for free delivery at ASDA this month?
    Many Thanks!!
