Both mine (Yes, have managed to get enough points for 2 now!) expire 31.12.06, not sure if thats the case for everybody else's.

So there's plenty of time to use them. If you are using it for the Ireland trip, bear in mind that Irish Ferries cancel sailings at a drop of a hat if the weather conditions aren't good.

Isn't that a good thing? Wasn't it Stena that had its poor passengers hanging round outside Fishguard for hours & hours because they couldn't dock (I'm sure it's happened a few times though with both companies). I think they gave them free food, but if you feel seasick that's not exactly what you want. I've been on some pretty rough crossings with Irish Ferries and I'm glad they stop them if things look bad.

Irish Ferries will cancel the fast 99 minute sailings from Holyhead to Dublin if slight windy conditions are promised, long before Stena cancel their fast service.

As the vouchers can only be used on Irish Ferries, if you have to be in Ireland on a certain day, you could chance the fast boat, or go on the slow one, but the timming on this are inconvenient for spending a day in Dublin.

  • I have just ordered a voucher.

How long does it take for the voucher to be delivered.

I am going to Anglesey on Thursday. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit Dublin for the day.

They do come quickly, but possibly not that quick! You actually have to book the crossing through a 3rd party (Bridge Travel), but I'm sure you could ring on Thursday to book almost immediately, as its not a busy time of year.

I know the Irish Ferries (fast boat) was cancelled today because of the promised high winds. I expect if you book, and the sailing is cancelled, they'll allow you to book another day free. The good thing about Irish ferries as apposed to Stena, the boat takes you into Dublin Harbour, so then you just catch a ordinary bus into town for a couple of Euro's, instead of travelling on the Dart.

Hopy you have a good time!

Oooh thanks, always wondered where you got these vouchers from!

Had them twice before, for travel with car (got on eBay) Ist use was miles less than the online booking price, the 2nd more, so didn't use it.. Depends on when you want to go and for how long, best to try and price the same journey online so you have a comparison to use when you phone and make a booking with voucher.

    Just to note....
Irish Ferries recommend you bring your passport when travelling abroad. Irish and British citizens do not strictly require a passport to travel between the two countries - some form of identification is however required.
Photo ID, Bank Cards or bills for house utilities addressed to you are all acceptable and useful means of identification.

Please note that all other nationalities require passports.

central, cheap and cheerful Dublin accomodation I've used and had no complaints with..
