Thanks for this, I have actually bought a couple of these vouchers from ebay for aboutr £10.00-still cheap for a return to Ireland (or france) for up to 5 people for up to 5 days.

Just joined again and a free voucher is on its way, might join under another name and email address later!

All I have to do is find a cheap B&B in Dublin and off we go!

    Thanks

    great spot!

We used to buy these vouchers off ebay but they've tightened up recently and won't let you use them unless the voucher is in your name (well, depending on who you get through to)

thanks for this, can i go into a travel agents and get a coach to dublin and get the ferry free if i hand over the voucher, or is it car only
  • There are no names on the vouchers. I have one in front of me now. It has a pin number which you quote on the telephone when you book the ferry (Landround Travel) but I don't know if they 'marry' these off with names supplied by I-Points.

I've just registerd for this, and although the france / ireland voucher was mentioned on the front page, there was no mention of it when I completed the registration. Have I done something wrong?

When you're logged in, click on "Redeem", then "Travel & Accomodation" . The Ferry voucher for 40 ipoints is 2nd from the top :).

If anyone else (like me) was already registered, you can bump up your points to get this voucher by answering the ipoints polls on the home page and some of the surveys under "Free ipoints".

The voucher is for up to 5 people as foot passenger, and you can stay for up to 5 days before using the return. The length of stay, amount of passengers, and ferry times/type of ferry have to be pre-booked through the telephone number on the voucher.

I live close enough to Holyhead to leave our car at a friends house, and go as foot passengers. I would find out the ferry sailings, the 99 minute Dublin Swift leaving at something past 9am is quite a good one, taking you right into Dublin Port. You could then price up return rail travel (I'm sure there are threads on here) if you have someone under 16 a family Rail card would help with the price, or a Student Rail Card. The train actually takes you right up to the Ferry Departure Lounge.

Last time we went I was soooo sick on the fast ferry (Dublin swift) that although we'd booked to come back on the same boat 3 days later, I went to the Irish Ferry booking office in the Port of Dublin and asked if we could come back on the big ferry (3 hours of slow sailing!) there was no problem at all, and no extra charge. Although this may not be the case if the rugby or similar event is on at the time.

We stayed at http://www.townhouseofdublin.com/ if that is any help to you.

The pin number does refer to a name, I believe. I think it depends who you get through to, we've used loads of ebay with no trouble, but a few times haven't been able to. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

Does anyone know how much extra it would cost to take the car on the ferry, using this voucher?
