My talktalk bill! :-(

Options
Goodness me, our first talktalk bill is £15.95 and includes about 50 calls to an 0845 number often dialed at 5am!

There are also phone calls to France and a couple of unidentifiable mobile numbers.

It is made worse by the fact we had to pay for an itemised bill irrc, just to be able to see what all these charges were.

None of this stuff happened when we were with BT, anyone have any idea what an earth is going on and whether we can get out of paying these charges. I'd like to get to the bottom of this simply because if I don't it's going to happen every month, and I guess I should threaten to leave talktalk but apparently we're to a 12 month contract.

I mean I don't even use talktalk for calls, my flatmates use it in the evening to dial loc/nat numbers for free. I use 18866 and https://www.saynoto0870.com during the day.

  • Hi there,

I have been with talk talk for a long time now, and until my last bill was very pleased with the service they offered.

I received my October bill and I was amazed to find an International number being rung. I was charged 4p for the call, that wasn’t the point it was the principle as I never ring international, I don’t even know anyone overseas!

I range talk talk and explained the above, they refused to refund the charge initially, and then they did. Apparently, they get all the calls you make from BT and they bill you accordingly i.e. talk talk.

As far as talk talk were concerned I defiantly made the call, which is complete utter rubbish.

Talk to them and tell them you are disputing these calls made, perhaps put pen to paper, I wish you luck with it.

I now thoroughly check all my bills....opened my eyes up.

If you want a year of free calls from Talk Talk........
    1. use your BT phone for 3 months only to the Isle of Man (eg use another phone eg mobile for normal calls)

    2. switch your line to Talk Talk

3 Continue to use mobile for calls except for....

4 calls to the Isle of Man

BT do IOM at normal rate, Talktalk to IOM at an International rate.

They will then give you a year of free calls under their promise to beat BT.

no they wont, they will give you the free calls if you say u want free calls for a year, and threaten to cancel.
promise to beat bt refers to £1000 guarantee, which no one will ever get as all talktalk calls are cheaper than bt, talktalk arent stupid, they wont promised 150,000 customers £1000 each unless they know u cant get it.
i should know. working for them
