Well I have never had this problem because neither I nor OH has ever had a bonus (boo hoo)
It made up for the particularly crap monthly wages they paid me!!! How we survived each month, goodness only knows!! Bonuses at Christmas were the redeeming feature!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Thank you all you lovely lot, your words have made me feel a lot better.
Hypno - it is so easy to spend bonuses before we get them isn't it  What upset me most was that I found out whilst we were away over the weekend and all I could do was brood internally as we were with other friends
You are entirely right though, I am so used to problems with money I really shouldn't flinch about it anymore!
Seax- how I wish we hadn't been told about it, then I wouldn't have spent it - bah!!!!
Wendy - sorry to hear about your car troubles, ours is due for the MOT at the end of the month and today started to rattle - why oh why oh why...............
But apart from that I'm feeling a bit chippier. We have been offered another LOB rate with another card so at least someone likes us
and on the plus side, at least I have managed to pay for the holiday on 0% rather than incur interest.
We have £60 sat in the kitty with strict instructions it is emergency fund, so our challenge is to see how far it lasts us.
Off to do a DIY manicure and pedicure now.Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0 -
Mardy !!!! is back and not so mardy today

Had a look through the bank statements last night and realised our petrol bill has become astronomical. This is basically down to me driving to work every day as there is a free parking space and it's less effort. I worked out we were filling up every 8 days at £50+ a time
So this morning, walking shoes on, I drove the few miles to the train station and got a weekly pass for a mere £19. I then walked the 25 mins from station to work. If I get a monthly pass it will work out about £70 which is far far less than what I would be paying for the ease of driving in. At the same time, I'll be getting some exercise. Why do some things stare you in the face as a way to save money??
Also bought some eggs from a local farm and saved almost £1.50 :j
Lunch has been brought in again today. I also need to ring Tescos online and complain about the fact that some of my shopping is crumbled to pieces when I delved into it this morning
So apart from train fare, hoping for a no spend day today

hello!
sorry to hear about the bonus situation. thats really sucky. I know how it feels though as if i don't get my commission each month i'm screwed. any news on the holiday situation yet?
Thats great news about driving/walking to work. sometimes if you are very close to a situation it is hard to see it and what is right under your nose. good for you for identifying it. i love farm eggs, had a whole half dozen of double yolkers the other day!!
hope you have a good day...xxxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
It is stupid isn't it how much money I was wasting and not really thinking about it. Just an inconvenience not being able to park outside work but think that actually equates to laziness :rolleyes:Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0

Morning - you seem brighter today, good to see
It's true, it's funny how you can get into a habit of doing things the more expensive way, I got very used to getting the bus to work which is 'only' a pound or so each way, but it all adds up! Have banned myself from getting bus now unless it's really horrendous weather - is good exercise as well!

*sheepishly creeps back in*
Me again!
Didn't realise quite how long it's been since I wrote on my diary and a few people have told me off
Things are same as with me, money tight, bills going up, no end in sight - however I am used to it now. Had a hairy month money wise and just avoided some bank charges today, kids birthdays coming up, other car needs taxing.
Keep thinking I need to do the spending diary thing again but I start and then forget about it! Have been excellent with lunches though, very rarely venture to the coffee shop across the road, my only downfall is the train station shops - I ended up randomly lurking the other day and just bought stuff  No need for any of it, just because........
Conscious that two of the debts need moving in October/November time and slightly anxious about them, but have decided that if I can I will move them to a life of balance card, as I get sick of having to move them around. Causing me a fair bit of stress and would offer some security in knowing I have a low interest rate.
Apart from that not a lot going on. I promise to try and post more, just rushing around all the time at the mo....will do a bit of work and then venture around the board to say hello

Hello, nice to see you! I believe you're coming to visit at the end of the month with Miss Pania?
