4 Hours  what you installing it on !!!

Update 2 PC's 1 x 32Bit & 1 x 64Bit and a Laptop 32Bit all took around 40 Mins, all however had the latest updates and were installed from the pre downloaded Service Pack.

I'm on dial up ... on the Microsoft webpage it says the download alone will take 17 hours - needless to say I gave it a miss. The write up about the SP1 is not so good, doesn't sort all the glitches in Vista, I've got all me glitches in hand now so I don't think I'll bother with it in the future. :D

    17 blinkin' hours, gawwwwd.!!!!

Downloaded it today when it appeared on my updates, about 15mins to download and 15mins to install. No problems so far.

    You brave beta testers! :)

I'd at least wait a month with any product unless my problem was too severe, or I wanted to fiddle.

Sayiing that nt4 got to sp6, win 2k got to sp4, looks like xp will go to sp3
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

It was released OEM over a month ago, and several weeks before that as a RC Refresh. So that rubbishes your comment ;):D

Robt, I tried the pre-release sp3 for xp some months back and it was much faster, but the important stuff just did not work like tcpip and uninstalling sp3 :(

So your installed beta software that didnt work and are comparing that with a finished, released product?

    Installed it.

Doesn't seem to have broken anything.

Doesn't seem to have made any difference.
