Hi,
jings, seems yer all agin me, fair enough.
Still think it would do the job, but I wouldn't try it myself.0 -
I am not sure the wall paper glue would adhere to the tiles well, It needs an absorbent breathable surface behind the paper. I too have a former shower area with tiles; a builder had told me to cover tiles with with a plywood board and paint over. Perhaps you may fix a plasterboard over the tiles and then wallpaper."I'll be back."0

It is absolutely ridiculous to even contemplate such a stupid bodge. If you are selling the house soon then do not do anything. If I saw that tiles had been wallpapered over I would wonder what other "bodges" had been perpetrated in the house and would probably have serious reservations about even making an offer.
In any event, kitchens are almost always the first thing that a new owner changes after buying a house.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

My housing association did this in my bathroom a few years ago so it can be done quite easily. The way it was done was they skimmed the tiles with plaster first to create the surface that wallpaper would stick to. It would have been better if they used more than the very thin layer (think bread and scrape!) as then the grooves wouldnt have shown through but it does still look reasonable. Textured wallpaper was put over the top and then painted.0

All joking apart - never heard of papering over tiles but beleive it or not I have plastered over tiles a couple of times. Not by mistake, or being messy either lol0

Of course it can be done easily; but it shouldn't be done at all.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
