  • I wouldn't move. I am with the same provider and I am perfectly happy-everyone has increased their prices-and before everything 'kicked off', Southern were amongst the cheapest. Before I moved in with my partner, my bills were the same as yours so I can see your concerns but I would seriously stay where you are for the next quarter otherwise you could be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire so to speak!
Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!

If you are unsure just change to a tariff with no cancellation fee whilst you decide, that way you are never locked in and can move when the market does.

i've just checked my bills and:

    gas - general saver tariff - standing charge 11.4p/day - 2.210p / kwh
    electric - general domestic - standing charge 15.07p/day - 9.32p/unit

as you see on energy helpline neither of these tariffs are there. if i was to go to ebico should i wait first and see if they increase their prices?
I would hazard that the terms SSE use for your tariff mean that you are on their plain vanilla tariff. In http://www.southern-electric.co.uk/ForYourHome/OurPrices.aspx it will be the first item in each of the lists. If you put your post code in you will get the new tariffs, and then can work out what your bill will be and prove if the comparison site is updated. Make sure whether VAT has been included.

The prices in the link are definitely the new ones
