Mini ISA Stocks & Shares

Hi,
I have not used my ISA allowance for stocks and shares yet. Therefore, I am looking for a nice discout broker. Now, I already read the corresponding article here and at a look at some websites of the recommended brokers.
What I always found, is that you can only choose funds, but not shares, bonds or certificates. Basically, all you can trade..
Does anybody know, if there are restrictions on what you put into your portfolio.
If not, which brokers have a big choice?
