In Yorkshire the children break up Friday 24th October for a week.

It seems the early part of October works out to be the cheapest! I had a quick look myself and the holidays were quite literally double the price towards the mid/end of October than they are at the beginning!

It makes sense - people with children should subsidise the cost of holidays for those without.

After all, they have to subsidise our offsprings' education, healthcare and costs of ensuring social wellbeing for most of the year. It's only fair they get something back.

    ;)

How gracious of you ;) I'm certainly not going to argue with that - I don't have children :D
  • Scottish schools take earlier holidays, I had a look and the majority are on holiday from the 10/10/08 with some a week earlier. Best bet to avoid rugrats is before then.
    HTH FiFi :)
