I also know that some companies offer more % in the £ back in order for the creditors to agree.Whilst others who offer a lower % get their offers rejected. These IVA's are not as clear cut as one is first led to believe.I think the advertiseing needs to altered drastically There would also appear to be a massive difference in what these companies charge. The one i tried was no money up front, but their fees were almost a £1,000 a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:Free impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Good Morning everyone.
I looked into IVA's too..Dalips comment regarding the £1000 per year seems to be the average that all of the ones i've looked at charge. They 'service' the account for this Fee...not sure how they cxan justify this just to set up DD and write a few letters...blah blah.
They do seem to be unsuitable for most people unless those for whom bankruptcy would mean loss of income and work status. ie, financial people, solicitors or company directors.
'normal' everyday folk should consider seriously the implications and fees involved before going ahead, it does appear looking at posts on here that most IVA's have failed because of one reason or another and the BR has had to be pertitioned anyway. The insolvency website with a list of BR seems to correlate this too.
Good luck.
