Hanging strawberries?

Thanks everyone. Lots of brilliant advice about keeping them alive and thriving once they are in the baskets (I have been taking notes!) but I wonder if someone could tell me if it's best to buy seeds or plants? I've been doing a bit of googling and all the seeds say they have to be kept at a certain temperature at first. Would I have to have some sort of electric propergater for this? Or could I rig something up at home? And also, (sorry for the onslaught of questions) if I plant them now could I expect fruit this summer or is it too late? Thanks again.0

I'd buy plants - you may get fruit this year, and definitely next year. It'll take longer from seed

I'm going to do strawberries this year in hanging baskets on my back wall (north facing) The ones I have decided to get are not cheap but I'm hoping that they will be perfect for my shaded back wall: http://www.shears.co.uk/Trying to make a better life.... If you need me you'll find me at the allotment.0
