What is the best SIM only deal?

Options
First post on here so if its been covered please forgive me. Ive just returned from traveling and am eager to get my mobile sorted. At the moment i seem to be using a fortune in pay as you go. Im perfectly happy with my phone i have so i see no reason to sign up to a 12 month contract, but if it works out cheaper in the long run i wouldnt be opposed to signing my life away for 12 months.
My old contract was 300 mins +250 txts, which i very rarely went over.
Im with vodafone at the min , who i have to say have not been the most helpful and curtious of companies, so moving network doesnt bother me.
Am a little cautios of cashback offers tho. I dont think ive ever met any1 who has actually got their cashback.
So Come on all you seasoned bargain hunters. Give a skint hippy a hand, an help me get connected again.

    I've been Money Tipped!
You can get a free 6 months sim only from virgin, an example here from CPW, you get 200 mins and 200 texts, or other variations:

You need to send back your 6th airtime bill. Go via a cashback site as well (Quidco etc.).

  • Have just been looking at the virgin mobile website. They have a promo going called the liberty sim card. No tie in 300 xnet mins and 300 txts for 20 quid. Although there is an extra little bonus. According to the lady i spoke to at virgin, as i have my broadband with them(not in any bundle and costing me a fortune) they will let me have the sim with the same minutes for £10 a month!
Im no expert. But that seems pretty good to me.

I'm waiting on my o2 Simplicity SIM arriving in the post.

    £15 a month - 200 mins, 400 texts and unlimited o2 to o2 calls.

Great if you're going to be calling a lot of people who use o2 :D That Virgin deal is pretty good if you're an existing VM customer though.
