Oh this is so funny (well, not really!!) I placed an order with boots for a bottle of perfume and some holiday skin, got the order and the holiday skin is in there but there is fish oil (the childrens vitamin) I ordered that last time and recieved it .... no perfume tho, now as much as I like cats I don't want to attract the whole neighbourhood of moggies by wearing the fish oil!!!! what should I do?
I do hope you don't just think that children will benefit from taking Fish oil.
See what can high-omega-3 foods do for you?
• Reduce inflammation throughout your body
• Keep your blood from clotting excessively
• Maintain the fluidity of your cell membranes
• lower the amount of lipids (fats such as cholesterol and triglycerides) circulating in the bloodstream
• decrease platelet aggregation, preventing excessive blood clotting
• inhibit thickening of the arteries by decreasing endothelial cells' production of a platelet-derived growth factor (the lining of the arteries is composed of endothelial cells)
• increase the activity of another chemical derived from endothelial cells (endothelium-derived nitric oxide), which causes arteries to relax and dilate
• reduce the production of messenger chemicals called cytokines, which are involved in the inflammatory response associated with atherosclerosis
• reduce the risk of becoming obese and improve the body's ability to respond to insulin by stimulating the secretion of leptin, a hormone that helps regulate food intake, body weight and metabolism, and is expressed primarily by adipocytes (fat cells)
What conditions or symptoms indicate a need for more high-omega-3 foods?

• Depression
• Cardiovascular Disease
• Type 2 Diabetes
• Fatigue
• Dry, itchy skin
• Brittle hair and nails
• Inability to concentrate
• Joint pain
Boots Super Concentrated fish oil capsules provide 330mg EPA and 220mg DHA. They are therefore twice as strong as Zipvit fish oil capsule which give 180mg EPA and 120 DHA. If however you bought 360 Zipvitcapsules for £9.75 and took two a day you would get 360 EPA and 240 DHA thereby bettering the Boots single capsule dose but also it would save £12.23 as 180 boots capsules on a 3 for 2 offer would cost you £10.99 x 2 = £21.98

However for children the best value source of OMEGA3 is Zipvit's Omega Juice which is £4.95 for 360ml about 7p daily compared to Boots 60 Caps | 18.3p per 1 capsule or if on 3 for 2 about 12 daily.
I'm unable to find the strength of these Boots capsules but they would have to provide more than 900mg EPA 600mg DHA to beat the Zipvit produce and I very much doubt they do.

Hi

Just thought i would share this one with you. I have not long returned from my latest trip to our local (st helens, merseyside) Boots where i picked up what i consider to be an amazing bargain.

24 exp Fuji APS film was £5.99 reduced to £0.10 and thats not all, they where 3 for 2. Some of them do have early use by dates, but at that price who could argue.

I picked up 6 for £0.40.

That will do for the holidays, go on grab a bargain.

Good luck

I've seen this thread appear before and spotted some really good deals come up but haven't been very clued up on the advantage card system! I've just bought 6 packets of huggies nappies, got 10 pounds off and then the free points so for my first offer I don't think its a bad one!

Saying that tho, I've read back through the threads and it seems that is about the only offer (online) on at the moment with the advantage points being so good?!

Or am I missing something???

No - don't think there is much on by way of Advantage points. Best deals seem to be the 3 for 2 Xmas gifts at present.
