my oven broke down recently - and i had to get a man out to fix it:eek::eek: having booked a repair man was the perfect excuse to clean the oven!! i could not have a repair man round to look at the oven in its normal state!! he congratulated me on my clean oven and suggested he did not normally look at really clean ovens:eek::eek: i also took the opertunity to hoover round th cooker space as he had to remove the cooker to repair - also this is not the norm.

Lol, mine is very similar! I dropped my engagement ring last Tuesday night and of course it disappeared....I thought under the floorboards  After I'd told various people they'd all offered to come round & help me get it back - so I hurridly had to pull the bed & cabinets out & clean behind them so's not to shame myself.....and in the process hoovered up my ring.....well at least it's clean now and the neighbours didn't need to see my messy bedroom! :o

Confession time - I had to work late tonight, had a meeting that didn't finish until 7.30, but there were sandwiches etc laid on. Got in about 8.30, realised that OH had finished the loaf at breakfast, no time to make another one, nothing for breakfast and no inclination to run to the supermarket before they closed. And I needed some supper. So I made a big batch of pancakes, and what I didn't scoff while watching Mad Men are cooling on a rack in the kitchen, to be reheated for breakfast tomorrow. When OH gets in, I'll act all Domestic Goddess about making pancakes for breakfast, and not mention the stack I ate before he got home! ;)

  • thank goodness I found this thread, I have been lurking on OS for a few weeks and reading lots of the other posts and I was starting to feel very undomestic goddess compared to everyone else ;)

    my confessions are:

I hide dirty plates etc in the oven if someone comes round unexpected

    I NEVER iron anything

my kitchen floor is muddy as is the back door BUT in my defense I have a 6 month old Alaskan Malamute puppy who asks to go outside every 10 minutes and can open the back door from outside by jumping at it :rotfl:

my fil brought me a mop round today because of muddy kitchen floor

I spend too much time on tinternet and not enough cleaning lol

reading this thread has made me laugh out loud, so thanks for everyone who's posted - love it :T

    loved it!!!!

And Liz545... being someone without TV, I misread your post and wondered for a sec what mad men are cooling on a rack was about!

the thread should definitelt be renamed "whats in your fruit bowl today!"

It all made me smile :)

  • :oI think I must be guilty of the most dreadful OS Crime

For the past 2 weeks instead of ironing shirts for my DH and DS1 I have been putting them in the tumble dryer for 15 minutes in the morning and then putting them on the hanger:eek:
I'm not even putting other things in the TD at the same time.

Now I've typed it I'm going to make an effort to do the ironing when I get home from work this afternoon.

This morning I stripped the sheets off the bed. They've been on there for a month, waiting for some decent outdoor drying weather.
Now that will probably make the rest of you feel much less guilty:rotfl:

Had the builders around again today so couldnt do anything but clean up (roughly) after last nights party and then sit and embroider all day. Shipped Dh off to sons as he cannot rest (disabled) when builders are in as he used to be one and his frustration at not being able to help me rises to a pitch. Then worst of all the builders messed up the sky dish - I was bereft, what on earth was I going to do while I pottered about all night, oh thank goodness they wiggled the dish, which of course they hadnt messed up in the first place!, and it worked! Oh and the washing is still in the washer.
