I just want to say how glad I am this thread exists.
You have no idea how inadequate I was feeling.
I have just begun the whole old fashioned MSE thing. I have burned two brabantia pots past all recognition and spent 40 quid on plastic tubs and assorted sh*t I will never use.

I just read the last lot of posts out loud to the very picky obsessive fussy ratty virgo husband. He sneered. I smirked.

Hello again!
What a horrid day weather wise!! I'm out of the cast now and the timetable has gone out of the window except for the washing up which gets done more often than it used to ....but not much
I have 2loads of washing oin the line from 2 weeks ago which is wetter now than it was when it went out but it's not been dry enough to contemplate bringing in and hanging inside at any point in the fortnight! My washing basket is empty except for 2 loads of towels and all the bed linen which only got changed because DS had a nappy leak overnight.
My kitchen floor is crunchy (enough there for a meal or 2, first to put their hand up can come to dinner tomorrow night) and the ceiling is spattered with almost butter after an epic fail during butter maing today whereby I took the beaters out of the bowl too soon.....
However, I have spent a lovely relaxing day with my DS. we curled up on the settee snoozing and watching tv for a couple of hours this morning, then had a nap this afternoon and then made cheese straws and butter. One of the good weekends!
But I have a pile of washing up that almost reaches the ceiling and it's unlikely to get done tonight because I forgot to put the water on and I can't be bothered to do it now.....
Roast Lamb for dinner with all the trimmings and (packet mix) yorkies. Perfect every time and even my MIL "lets" me cook themI can't believe it's cheaper to make them from a big bag of flour once you have found the scales and weighed it up and washed up etc....*honest*

I was spring cleaning my documents folder (always behind me) and found this.
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, and the wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.
Sums up my philosophy very well.
Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw
