I have 2 cats. 1 of them is disabled. he has weak hind legs but strong frontlegs. he tries to jump onto tables and worktops. he sometimes doesnt make it so he grips with his front claws and slides down the furniture. eveything is scratched badly. including my leather arm chairs. Things get knockd over and broken when either he or his sister are trying to catch flies. he also scratches the carpet and plucks it. I have horses, sheep and MUD. I have a very old landrover which DH is always fixing. then next door is always tinkering with his vehicles.there is oil. the cats tread in the oil, procede through the house and up the stairs and onto my WHITE DUVET COVER. aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

LOL this sounds a bit like my house. The saving grace is since we moved the cats don't climb in through the bedroom widow, but rather the bathroom window....its lovely not having emergency bedding changes when a muddy cat has jumped in...sometimes with prey...onto your bed :mad:0 -

as there are three windows in this room and it will not be cheap to replace them
I know the answer to this. I have a half Burmese half Korat kitten. She's black....or she was until the first time she went across the curtain rail in the sitting room. She was dusty grey when she came down. As she now comes down the correct colour I assume it's clean up there at last.
Is it bad to admit I've let her do the same in all the bedrooms too?
Fruit bowl? Ours is still in Asda bags. You just bin them when stuff goes green and fuzzy0 -

This is one of the finest posts[excluding mine own]that I have read on this Thread over the years.
melvis - I salute you.
Thank you, it's nice to see my mess impress
Mags_cat - After a couple of years I did finally get around to throwing boxes of video casettes out ... we don't own a video player so they were a bit pointless :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The rest of the boxes will be tackled in due course
Raksha - Our house turned into a giant wee stain, we laminated in the hallway and in the little carpeted bit of kitchen that doubles up as a dining area and we put a new carpet down in the living room. The bedroom just has a giant stain by the doorway (it's lots of little stains that appear to have joined forces )
zarazara - we have 3 cats (and 2 dogs... my house is a furball) and all are fully functioning but have still managed to scratch my (less than a year old) settee, pulled the wallpaper off every corner in the house (we didn't repaper, we sanded down and painted over :rotfl::rotfl:), the youngest one can open the little window in the kitchen so I have muddy footprints up one side and down the other side of the window daily, all over the sill, on wallpaper below the sill, along the radiator, over the floor and on the worktops :rotfl::rotfl: and when i painted the doorstep i ended up with painted paw prints all over the kitchen :eek:
My middle cat wee'd on my bed, I stripped the covers off and the dog attempted to eat the naked quilt :rotfl::rotfl: It's now on the spare bed
When I first got rid of the litter tray, I caught the youngest cat squatting for a wee in the skinny rinse bit between the kitchen sink and the drainer :eek: I thought I'd left the tap running :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My fruitbowl .... has a Rose of Jericho living in it but we never water it so technically a Tumble Weed is living in my fruit bowl :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The outside of my house resembles Steptoe's Yard .... there's HALF a VW Beetle (the back end, in case your interested), HALF a motorbike (the front end, of course), 5m of steel tubing ... these are the ingredients for the trike Mr Melvis started building 3 years ago. There's the frame of a Trampoline, computer towers, old exhausts ... these are all to be weighed in, apparently. There's a massive old trailer parked on the drive, we don't have a tow bar, I forget how it arrived. There's fence panels stacked up against the broken fence. There's lots of bricks but Mr Melvis isn't building anything :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yesterday, I made Mr Melvis move as much of the above as possible out of sight. I will make my garden prettySmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
I was in the kitchen earlier and noticed a plug lying on the top of a unit, it suddenly clicked in my brain that it was the plug from my little chest freezer. I'm decorating the kitchen and I'd pulled the plug out so I could move the freezer and paint behind it..............on Sunday!!!!!
I've checked the freezer and everything on the top is defrosted, the stuff underneath is half defrosted. I'm now sitting here having a cup of tea instead of emptying it.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I finally cleaned our living room on Saturday, mainly because I was ashamed of my daughters bf seeing it!!
When I got home from work yesterday, I started on my bedroom. I too have a drawer unit, an airing cupboard and a box under my bed of Avon stuff that I haven’t used or sent back, so I wanted to see if there was a) anything useful and b) anything I can sell!! As well as a dressing table top I cant remember seeing for about 6 months and a bedside table that has that much stuff on it, every time I switch my alarm clock off, a little slides off the make up/jewellery/etc mountain!!!
Anyway, I digress. I emptied 2 drawers on to the bed (covering it with a towel first) I really don’t remember ordering 6 mascaras, 3 tubes of foundation, !! lipsticks, etc etc. Sorted out what I will probably use, chucked away any that were clumpy and horrible and put any others into one of the empty drawers. Then I thought, I could do with a cuppa, went down, made said cuppa, took back up and started again. Half an hour and many more Avon buys later, I decided I wanted another cuppa. Did I take the other cup down? No, I brought another one up. Did a bit more, put the tele on, started watching a film, drank my tea. Then realised its half 5, the OH will be here in about 20 mins, perhaps I should think about the tea!! Ran downstairs (leaving 2 cups balanced precariously on previously mentioned the bedside table). Cooked the tea, OH cleaned the kitchen, I sat down to watch Holby City and generally be lazy for the rest of the night. Then the OH went upstairs.
How the **** are we supposed to get into bed tonight with all that **** all over it! I suppose the floor will be a ****** great dumping ground for them til you decide to sort all that **** out again!!
He was right. Its on the floor. And there it will stay until I have time (sorry can be bothered) to do any more.
They say confession is good for the soul. I feel so much better!!!Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -

OK I will start with picture 1. If this was your main bedroom I would understand... but its a spare room... So why can I still see the pattern and colour of your duvet coverThe boxes look neatly packed too.
I think this room has the potential to look very much worse than it does.
The kitchen... ok, you have washing in the machine and I am hoping it has been there at least 24 hours... however, the washing up is done, the floor looks clean and the windowsill is almost clear of any clutter.
I am even more glad I cannot find my camera now :rotfl:
Seriously, I am going to make an effort to find it and try to upload some pics. I can do it from FB with the blackberry but NO WAY am I posting my pics on FB!!!!!
Anyone else brave enough to post pics?
(ps, I have a neighbour coming for a glass or two of wine soon... I have pushed most of the carp up to the other end of the room and will ensure she sits facing the other way. She will still see the carp but at least she won't be looking at it all evening :rotfl:0 -

I love cats and ones which are multi functional are my favourites! where does one purchase Half Burmese Half Korat cats? do they clean curtain tops by instinct or do you have to train them? Can you get them in Dusty Gray so you dont have to brush them after they have cleaned your curtains? do they do floors too?0 -

Boxes are fairly neat - I got annoyed with them
I have to have this room ready for someone to sleep in by Saturday.... ironing being attacked tomorrow maybe?!
Kitchen - washing is dirty, and has been in the machine for 24 hrs or more..... can't put it on until the last load dries on the airer
