I've just received one of these telemessages, thing is I've been with Npower for years, I changed to edf and Npower bettered them and said that they would deal with edf if I came back to npower on a lower tarriff. I agreed, then they sent me this, threatening a debt collector. I'll phone them tomorrow and see what they have got to say for themselves!

Just recvd this letter this morning.

I havent rang them - but I was also an nPower customer for 2 months & left asap! I'm pretty certain I owe NOTHING to anybody, and BGas sorted the move to them very efficiently

If anything, they might owe me money!!!

Best NOT to ring or ring?

Best to ring. You may only owe them a couple of quid, so pay it off and "damn their impudence". The consequences of leaving it to the debt collectors could mean ccj or whatever, and that could hang over you for quite a while.

I see npower have not improved their admin one jot since my post in 2009. I gave up asking them for a final gas bill but they suddenly woke up & sent me one after 2 years! odd that it was the same amount as my final electric bill down to the last penny. Fortunately an npower agent spotted my post on here & sorted it out for me very quickly, its a shame they have to trawl the internet looking for complaints instead of just getting their admin in order.

  • Recieved a letter this morning stating that the above account remains unpaid. Please call 0845 070 3000 to make payment in full or agree a payment arrangment.
Failure to contact may result in your account being passed to a debt collection agency and/or County Court for summons.

I don't recognise the account number quoted and was wondering if anyone knew who the number 0845 070 3000 relates to?

    Thanks
Hi i have just checked the number for you using saynoto0870 and it has saided it is for npower final collections department so it must be for an unpaided npower account i hope this helps you and if you use saynoto0870 it has most numbers on there for you kind regards
  • Hi,
This has been really useful. However, I know the thread is a bit dated, but got a question to this npower business. We had a letter from Telemessage. I rang, automated answer service said they were not taking calls due to their computer systems being updated and I could leave my details for them to call me back - still waiting. This letter was about the bill from a previous property. They were informed that the balance would be paid when they raised the correct bills with the correct final meter readings. In the meantime, I have called npower to query something on my new property account - thankfully that was easily sorted. While I was on the phone I asked if the meter readings had yet been updated for the previous property - the girl confirmed there was no bills outstanding in our name for the previous property!!! How do I take that? Yet another mistake from npower, possibly this time in my favour. Or am I likely to get a nasty suprise next month?
    Comments anyone please....
  • very wierd. I received a letter from them today.
