Well it's not as if Jersey's legal system has anything better to do at the moment.

The main problem is that if something went wrong with it, if it were bought from this country you'd have the Sale of Goods Act and Distance Selling Regulations to back you up. E.g. if it went faulty outside its warranty period you could get it repaired or replaced under those laws, even before that the retailer is responsible for ensuring faults are dealt with. But if bought from play.com you don't have any legal support at all and are completely at the mercy of play's discretion. It's difficult enough to get cooperation from companies in this country when you have the law on your side so imagine what risk you're taking with a company that has no such legal impetus.

Actually thinking about it, it may affect some warranties as some manufacturers won't uphold their warranty if the item was bought outside the EU (they're legally obliged if bought from another EU country). And play.com is located outside the EU.

Tried they said they were very sorry but there wasn't anything else they could do, they had wound me up so much and i was going on holiday the following week i couldn't do with anymore hassell.

I have never had any problems with buying anything from them it just seems to be with returns theres a problem.

So thats why i wouldn;t recommend them to anyone, the goods were faulty and it was just one hassell after another.

sorry I was not saying people should use Play.com only pointing out that some things do get delivered on time.

I myself have just brought a camera from currys in the town near where I live so I can take it back if it had or develops a fault without messing about.

I buy alot of things over the internet, but nearly all electronic things I purchase I get locally in case they need to go back under guarantee.

My son is at college and has a very good part time job so at the moment he places less value on things, his response when I said why not get the camera from somewhere local was if it goes wrong i'll just buy a new one.
